These six principles form an interlocking system. No single control stands alone. Together they create the governance architecture that makes AI deployment in insurance sustainable, auditable, and defensible.

Our Beliefs

AI augments human intelligence. It does not replace human judgment.

The goal of AI in insurance is to make experienced practitioners faster, more consistent, and better informed. It is not to remove the practitioner from the equation. Decisions that affect people's financial security deserve human accountability.

Good data, rigorously applied, is the durable competitive advantage.

Not the fanciest model. Not the fastest deployment. The organizations that will generate the best long-term returns from AI are the ones that invest in data quality, lineage, and governance before they invest in model sophistication.

The scientific method is the right model for AI governance.

Reproducibility. Peer review standards. Best practices. Business context. These are not bureaucratic requirements — they are the foundations of any claim worth trusting. AI outputs that cannot be tested, replicated, and challenged are not knowledge. They are noise.

Independent, neutral analysis is increasingly rare and increasingly valuable.

We have no vendor relationships. No sponsored content. No financial interest in which tools or platforms our readers choose. Our only interest is in getting the analysis right. In a market flooded with AI vendor noise, neutrality is a feature.

Human judgment is the standard everything on this site is held to.

AI may assist in research, analysis, and drafting. That is honest and we do not pretend otherwise. But every piece of content published here has been read, challenged, and approved by an experienced insurance practitioner with direct knowledge of the subject matter. The human is accountable for what appears here. That accountability is the point.

Strong returns with limited downside. That is the objective this framework was designed to serve. Not the fastest AI deployment. The most defensible one. The organizations that govern AI well today will be the ones still writing profitable business in ten years.
